Ryan Castro has been a landscape designer in New York City since 2011, and prior to that he worked as an architectural designer in both NYC and Long Island. With a multi-disciplinary approach to complex design issues, Ryan has designed and managed a wide range of projects including urban design, public parks and campuses, contaminated sites, historic preservation, and residential projects. Ryan’s designs aim to bridge landscape and architecture, with a focus on sustainability. His designs take a logical approach to integrate architectural design principles with natural forms to create a sense of place.
Ryan brings a high level of technical skill and creativity to each project and has worked on complex projects where his detailed problem solving approach has helped to overcome design problems and unforeseen issues during construction. He has managed numerous projects for NYC Parks, and has coordinated multi-disciplinary teamwork amongst sub-consultants to ensure fully coordinated construction documents.
Ryan is a Presidential Scholar graduate from Rhode Island School of Design where he obtained his master’s degree in Landscape Architecture. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from NYIT.
