Quennell Rothschild & Partners are landscape architects who have created and restored numerous parks, plazas, streetscapes and cultural facilities for a wide range of public and private clients.  Through the broad experience of our partners and core staff, QRP has established itself as a firm known for innovation, consensus building and effective project management.  The firm brings substantial technical expertise and experience in the design, renovation and new construction of urban parks, waterfronts, campuses and residences.  We have developed a reputation for creative design and for imaginative thinking about the design process, while remaining solidly grounded in the reality of what can be built.  Our approach focuses on the unique characteristics of each site and the special requirements of each project, while maintaining a core commitment to environmental sustainability.

Our practice values collaboration with other designers, engineers, architects and artists – voices from outside our profession that add to the richness and diversity of our landscapes. We have successfully worked with a stellar array of architects and artists, and we approach all collaborations with sensitivity and open minds, bringing our own design sensibility and technical competence, and our ability to listen and recognize extraordinary ideas and to interpret those ideas towards a strong shared vision.

Our portfolio includes projects which explore the boundaries of contemporary landscape design and includes new and historic public parks, complex streetscape projects, campus planning and design for many public and private colleges and universities. The firm created the master plan for Hudson River Park, the 4.5 mile-long, 550 acre park along Manhattan’s west side; and was responsible for the innovative transformation of more than a mile of beachfront at Far Rockaway Park.  For these and many other projects the firm organized extensive public outreach programs, directed and coordinated large sub-consultant teams and developed broadly-supported, rapidly implemented designs.

Environmental stewardship is a core commitment of Quennell Rothschild & Partners.  Our staff and principals include LEED-accredited professionals.  A thorough understanding of sustainable design methods and long-term maintenance requirements is integrated into all of our work from design through construction review.   The results are projects that are environmentally sound and enduring.
